Magnus Blackwell’s past is about to catch up with him.

An evil force has seized New Orleans. Pestilence, suffering, and darkness cloak the city. The citizens are scared and need their mambo to guide them, but Lexie Arden can’t help anyone. A diabolical presence has taken Lexie’s power and severed her ties with the other side.

Magnus Blackwell is fighting demons of his own. Torn between his devotion to Lexie and a spirit from his past, Magnus’s loyalty is put to the test. He must revisit his sins to uncover the key to the hatred ripping the city apart. If he doesn’t, Lexie’s reign as mambo will end.

Their search for answers leads them deep into the darker realms of voodoo—until a desperate Lexie does the unthinkable, and Magnus can do nothing to spare her from her fate.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble

My ReviewsBound is not your typical supernatural novel– it’s the kind of story that will make your heart, mind and soul  confused. It’s a truly fascinating read.

Bound is the second book of Magnus Blackwell Novel,  and I strongly advised to read the first book, Damned before reading this. This review contains no spoilers, just plain review.

Let’s talk about the characters. The characters in the book contains  like more than five? Magnus, Lexie, Titu, Renee, Katie, Will, and Kal or something– okay, okay the characters in the book is too handful, some of them come and goes as the story progress, and if you are like me who somehow forgets names easily, well, good for you, the characters name are just simple, and not those out of this  world names.

As for the story, I hate to admit it, but I didn’t finished the book in one sitting– another reason why I forget the names easily– because I find the phasing of the story too slow at the beginning, though  halfway of the book(or like one fourth, rather),  when Magnus sees someone from his past, the story gets exciting. There were few chapters that bores me, but overall, the book was pretty good.

The ending was pretty good too, well, I didn’t expect it, because as the plot of the story insinuate, it was impossible to happen.

Overall Ratings

Bound A Magnus Blackwell Blackwell Novereceives a rating of four heavenly book goodness! Okay, so the book did not get five ratings because of the slow phasing or the parts I found boring, BUT it still gets four ratings because the storyline, somehow was good. Oh, I also like the darkness aura of it.

Ending this review with my favorite quote

Every leader needs a touch of darkness to rule.”
